How we started and where we are going

Octopus Group has been open for registration in Australia since October 2016 and open to clients since 20th January 2017.

Our core goal is to provide a means for anyone to supplement their income, mainly through online surveys and other market research activities - that incentivise fairly.

We take education seriously, so we've made it a priority to answer every member question in as much detail as possible, with the aim of increasing awareness and trust of the research industry.


As of August 2021, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 160,000 members and issued over $6.5 million of incentives!

As of April 2020, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 125,000 members and issued over $2.5 million of incentives!

As of December 2018, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 60,000 members and issued over $500,000 of incentives.

As of April 2018, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 45,000 members and issued over $230,000 of incentives.

As of November 2017, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 32,000 members and issued over $145,000 of incentives.

As of February 2017, we (Octopus Group) have grown our membership to over 8,000 members and issued almost $10,000 of incentives.


We aim to inspire change in favour of the survey takers, and since our emergence, some of the lowest paying survey suppliers have raised their member incentives. 

We are very proud that our minimum rate of 28 cents/minute for qualified and completed surveys is still leading the way by over 60% when compared with our nearest competitor ( and over 100% of most other competitors!!).
